The Maze: a dystopia-inspired short story.

Kids Euro Festival is one of the country’s largest performing arts festivals for children (more than 150 FREE events in and around Washington, D.C). The month-long event is geared to kids ages four through twelve and will feature artists in almost every performing genre, whose talents range from opera for children to improvisational storytelling, to puppeteers, dancers, and acrobats. Kids Euro Festival is staged through the cooperation of the 27 Washington-based European Union embassies and more than a dozen major local cultural institutions.

Elle Jauffret’s Biography

Born and raised in France, Elle Jauffret worked as a lawyer before devoting her time to motherhood and writing. She graduated from the University of Sophia-Antipolis Law School (in Nice, France) at the top of her class, as well as from the George Washington University Law School (in Washington, D.C., USA).
                              
She holds free writing/brainstorming workshops in public schools.

She was the chairperson of the Pediatric Literacy Program (Books4Kids) at the National Naval Medical Center/Walter Reed Medical Center (the President's hospital), Bethesda, MD for two consecutive years. She is also the initiator of a new program called First Breath, First Read (sponsored and funded by the NDOSC) that provides a new book to babies born in the hospital- as a first step into the world of literacy. As we all know, it is never too early to read or to be read.

In 2009 and 2010, she represented the Embassy of France at one of the country’s largest performing arts festivals for children - Kids Euro Festival in Washington DC. She is the author of the James Normal series (middle grade fiction), has written a spy novel, titled The Ripple Effect, and completed Charlie’s Universe with the contribution of science writer Jeff Kanipe.  She is now working on a YA (Young Adult) mystery.

Besides writing, she enjoys everything that makes life extraordinary: from books and sports to food and friendships, and everything in between.
